Structure
The classic session is as follows: 45 min HW review—5 min break—40 min new content.
On a more macro level, the first month is geared towards developing critical thinking skills and some content mastery. After that I begin to mix in practice tests every 2-3 weeks alongside furthering content mastery. In other words: process before speed.
Logistics
The Socratic method is my big picture process, but if you’re curious how I actually run sessions and share material, here are some basic logistics:
All materials will be shared via Google Drive and organized by category.
I use an annotation software to write directly on these PDFs. All notes are immediately saved and accessible at any time. Students with a Wacom tablet or Apple Pencil can annotate alongside me, though pencil and paper work just as well.
Practice tests are official College Board tests 4-11 — the gold standard for effective prep.
Sessions conducted on Zoom.
Expectations
SAT tutoring is like a fifth class — that means you need to be ready to give it your all. I assign 2–3 hours of homework per week. Students are expected to show up on time, prepared (homework complete, notebook in hand), and in a quiet, distraction-free space.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance via text or email. Late cancellations will be billed at the full session rate.
